How many posts should there be per page?

How many threads?

What do you think - its pretty much scrolling versus loading new pages. The nice thing about scrolling is that you have all your information on one page. The nice thing about pagination is you can technically make them small enough to not even having to scroll and you will have to load less data every time but it will add the problem of clicking the next page every time.

Any preferences? Please share.

Have you considered making it a user preference? I can see the argument for both though I personally would prefer to load more data and scroll.

Well i was just thinking for defaults, i think i will do something reasonable like 40 posts per page which most forums seem to have as a default.
